Just come back from Abu Dhabi after presenting at the Get Out of the Rat Race Event with my Mentor Ernesto Verdugo. It was an intimate affair compared to the show yesterday at the Dubai Arts Community Theatre and Arts Centre (DUCTAC) I had forgotten how boring that drive was down the road to the capital!
The event was held at the Aloft hotel, which is connected to the Abu Dhabi convention centre. The hotel itself is a very cool/odd looking building, very modern and funky inside. It reminded me of the Microsoft Offices at their Reading HQ in the UK, with pool tables and huge TV screens and ‘Fat Boy’ cushions around for people to chill out in. I also really liked their self check in and check out terminals, with electronic signature pads – real time saver and no need to queue to get in or out of the hotel. Might be a good option for the Grand Prix later in the year if Yas Island Hotel is booked solid!
The event went well, with a smaller more intimate group, I think the hotel needs to provide comfier seats for the attendees as I saw a few making that awkward face, when you get up from an extended period of time sat down uncomfortably!!
Next weekend Naomi is back from the UK and it will be my first weekend off for a while, so no travelling, but lots of my favourite past time, chilling and maybe some online work to be done too 🙂
